Perhaps you have been on several diets or indeed feel like you have tried them all over the years! Possibly you have Lost weight only to find that you put it back on again?
The chemists' shelves are full of various diet foods and book publishers thrive on a proliferation of the latest celebrity diet books. They nearly all expect you to deprive yourself of certain foods, or involve counting calories; no wonder most of us give up after a valiant effort!!
Many of my clients tell me that they know exactly what they should do, but just can't seem to do it. Some blame a lack of motivation, others simply say there seems to be a link missing between what they intelligently comprehend - knowing what foods are sensible to eat - and their actual behaviour - seemingly unable to stop eating the wrong things.
Perhaps you overeat for a reason - to satisfy your emotional needs such as stress, boredom, anxiety? Or possibly you have long established poor eating habits? Your weight problems may well be caused by a combination of factors.
I use a mixture of Hypnotherapyand CBT to challenge your eating habits and your attitude towards food and to help you make the changes in eating habits and lifestyle required not just to lose weight, but to keep it off for good.
You will be helped to resolve the emotions and habits which have lead you to over eat or indulge in unhealthy foods. From the very first session you will learn how to identify what makes you eat inappropriately and learn techniques to deal with your triggers.
The word 'diet' is banished and no food banned as this just makes us feel deprived. It is all about taking control, eating sensibly and upping levels of activity/exercise - I will help you to get the balance right.
Weight loss will be gradual but if you follow the programme you should steadily lose weight and just as importantly maintain your reduced weight.
One word of warning, If you are looking for a magic cure that will do all the work for you then you will not be successful. It is a shame it's not that simple, but if I could claim that I'd be millionaire!! I will help you to make the transition to a healthier lifestyle, but effort on your part is required. My aim is to make the transition as easy as possible.
There is no 'one size fits all' approach and all sessions will be designed to help with your specific problem areas - so it may be that you need help stopping that in front of the TV snacking, to control your portion sizes, be motivated to exercise more, or to stop having those days when nothing in your fridge or cupboards is safe!
During your sessions we can identify your particular issues and help you to deal with them.
Each hypnotherapy session is recorded and then emailed to you to download and listen to at home between appointments.
An average weight management plan runs between 4 - 6 sessions.
